Most families have no idea the VA pays for help around the house. Three routes are worth asking about, and they work differently.
Homemaker and Home Health Aide
VA health careA trained aide, nurse-supervised, who comes to the home for bathing, dressing, meals and housekeeping. The VA buys this from community agencies.
Enrolled in VA health care, with a VA clinician's assessment.
Respite care
VA health careThe VA pays for cover while the family caregiver takes a break. The most under-claimed of the three, and usually the easiest to start with.
Enrolled in VA health care, with a family caregiver providing regular care.
Aid and Attendance
VA pensionNot part of VA health care. A higher monthly pension paid to the household, which can spend it on care from any provider.
Wartime service, a qualifying need, and income and assets within VA limits.
We are not the VA
We cannot decide or speed up a decision. What we can do is tell you which of the three fits, what evidence the VA will want, and fill in our part of the paperwork. Where the VA approves Homemaker and Home Health Aide hours, it pays us directly and you pay nothing toward those hours.
Where the authorization comes from
Referrals are authorized by the Atlanta VA Medical Center, Station 508, at 1670 Clairmont Road, Decatur, GA 30033. This office participates through the VA Community Care Network Region 3, administered by Optum. We are not the VA and we do not decide eligibility; we complete our part of the paperwork and bill the VA once hours are approved.
What we need from youA benefits check takes one phone call
Tell us the branch, roughly when they served, whether they are enrolled in VA health care, and what help is needed at home. We will come back with which of the three routes is worth applying for and what the VA will ask you to produce.

Care begins in twenty-four hours.
A call, not a pitch
About twenty minutes. What is happening, what is not getting done, who is doing it now, and how it would be paid for.
A visit and a written plan
We come to the house, free. You get it in writing: which tasks, which days, which hours, and what it costs per week.
Care starts
Care can usually start within 24 hours.
The difference shows up in the boring parts
An employer, not a directory
Caregivers are employed, screened and insured by us. You are not hiring a stranger off a listings site and becoming their employer.
Owned by a nurse
Andrew Harris, RN is President and Owner, so the care plan asks about medications, falls and the discharge summary, not just how many hours you want.
One plan, in writing, before anything starts
Which tasks, which days, which hours, what it costs per week. No estimate that moves after the first invoice.
We do the VA paperwork with you
Most agencies tell you to call the VA. We tell you which program fits and hand you our part completed.
At home, as it should be.
What help is needed, what it costs, and whether the VA covers part of it. Free, with nothing to sign.
