What Our Dementia Caregivers Do
Our caregivers provide personalized support to help individuals living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia remain safe, comfortable, and independent at home.
- Consistent caregivers: Establishing a familiar care team to build trust, reduce confusion, and maintain continuity.
- Daily routines: Providing structure and assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, and bedtime routines.
- Dementia-specific support: Using patience, reassurance, and redirection to manage confusion, agitation, and changes in behavior.
- Home safety: Monitoring fall risks, assisting with mobility, and maintaining a safe, comfortable environment.
- Overnight care: Providing supervision, reassurance, and assistance throughout the evening and overnight hours. Many individuals living with dementia experience sundowning, when confusion, restlessness, and agitation can worsen in the late afternoon and evening. Our caregivers help maintain a calm, familiar environment while providing support with nighttime routines, toileting, mobility, and fall prevention.
- Family communication: Documenting daily activities, observing changes in condition, and keeping families and care managers informed.
Who Can Benefit From Dementia Care?
Our services support individuals across different stages of Alzheimer’s and dementia, from those needing occasional companionship and reminders to those requiring comprehensive, around-the-clock assistance. We also provide respite and ongoing support for family caregivers.
Why Caregiver Consistency Matters
For individuals living with dementia, familiarity and routine are especially important. Introducing new caregivers frequently can create confusion, anxiety, and resistance to care.
We prioritize establishing a dedicated care team for each client, limiting the number of caregivers involved whenever possible. This allows caregivers to develop meaningful relationships, understand individual routines and preferences, and recognize subtle changes in condition.
Our caregivers are supported by a 24/7 care coordination team that manages scheduling, arranges coverage, and helps maintain continuity when unexpected changes occur.
Individualized Care Plans & Clinical Oversight
Dementia care is rarely one-size-fits-all. Many individuals also manage other health conditions, mobility limitations, or complex medication regimens that require additional attention and coordination.
Every client receives a comprehensive in-home assessment and an individualized Plan of Care tailored to their needs, preferences, and daily routines.
Our care management team provides ongoing oversight, communicates with families, and coordinates with healthcare providers as needed. Under the clinical leadership of our President, Andrew Harris, RN, we emphasize recognizing changes early and adjusting care as needs evolve.
Our goal is not simply to provide caregivers, but to ensure every family has a knowledgeable team supporting their loved one’s care.
Understanding the Scope of Home Care
Our caregivers provide non-medical assistance with activities of daily living, companionship, mobility, meal preparation, and supervision.
While caregivers can assist with medication reminders and other permitted activities, skilled nursing procedures must be performed by appropriately licensed professionals.
Our care management team evaluates each client’s needs and helps families determine whether home care, additional clinical services, or a higher level of care is most appropriate.
We believe families deserve honest recommendations, even when that means suggesting services beyond what our agency provides.

That is the normal starting point. Describe the week and a care manager will tell you what would actually help, including if that is less than you think.

Dementia and Alzheimer's Care: common questions
My mother does not think anything is wrong. How does a caregiver even get in the door?
Not as a caregiver. Start with something that is not about her: help with the house, the shopping, the driving. The first few weeks are about one person becoming familiar. Personal care and supervision come later, once she knows them.
Can you handle someone who gets agitated in the evening?
Sundowning is common. Our caregivers help maintain a calm, familiar environment while providing support with nighttime routines, toileting, mobility, and fall prevention, and what works for your mother is written into the Plan of Care so every caregiver does the same thing.
At what point is home no longer the right answer?
Our care management team evaluates each client’s needs and helps families determine whether home care, additional clinical services, or a higher level of care is most appropriate. We believe families deserve honest recommendations, even when that means suggesting services beyond what our agency provides.
