Respite care in Atlanta. Hours back for the person doing all the caring.
Respite is for you, not for them. It is the most under-claimed service we offer and, for veterans enrolled in VA health care, one the VA will often pay for.

What a caregiver does
- A few planned hours each week, on a fixed schedule
- A solid block while you travel or go into hospital yourself
- Overnight cover so somebody else is listening out
- The same caregiver wherever we can manage it, so nobody starts from scratch
Who this suits
The daughter, son or spouse who has not had a clear weekend in a year. If that is you, start here rather than waiting until something breaks.
Respite is for you
Every other service on this site is bought for somebody else. This one is bought for the person doing the caring, and that is why it gets left until something gives: a back injury, a marriage under strain, a job quietly lost.
Family caregivers in this position are usually a daughter in her fifties who has not had a clear weekend in a year. If that is you, you are the client.
The VA pays for this more often than families know
Respite is a benefit in its own right for veterans enrolled in VA health care who have a family caregiver providing regular care. It is the most under-claimed of the three VA routes, largely because nobody tells families it exists.
This office is credentialed through VA Community Care and accepts authorized referrals. We will tell you which route fits and complete our part of the paperwork.
The practical bits
- Minimum four hours per visit, with no minimum number of days a week.
- Care usually starts within 24 hours.
- A written plan with the hours, the tasks and the weekly cost before anything begins. See how it works.
- Nurse-owned, and licensed by the Georgia Department of Community Health as a Private Home Care Provider, permit PHCP010959.

Not sure what your parent actually needs?
That is the normal starting point. Describe the week and a care manager will tell you what would actually help, including if that is less than you think.

Respite Care: common questions
How much notice do you need for a week away?
More than for regular hours, because a block of cover takes more scheduling than a Tuesday morning. Give us as much as you can and we will tell you straight away whether we can staff it properly.
Can respite be overnight?
Yes, including awake overnight cover. That is often what a family caregiver needs most, because the nights are what wear people down.
Do we have to commit to ongoing hours?
No. Plenty of families use respite as a one-off block and nothing else. The minimum is four hours per visit, with no minimum number of days a week.
