Ownership

Who owns this office

Andrew Harris, RN

Andrew Harris, RN

Owner and Clinical Director

Andrew's career in nursing began with his own father, who was disabled in a refinery explosion. After a Bachelor of Science in Nursing he worked in high-pressure environments: a Neuro ICU, and as a charge nurse on a hospital floor. He moved into home care because he thought the standard could be higher, and he still sets the clinical standard every care plan here is written to.

Serhat Bolukbasi, MBA

Serhat Bolukbasi, MBA

CEO and Owner

Serhat holds an MBA from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management and was a Principal at The Boston Consulting Group, leading strategy and operations work for large organizations. He has built and scaled businesses outside healthcare and brought that discipline to this one. His standing requirement for the office is the thing families feel first: do not miss a call, and do not promise a schedule the office cannot staff.

The East Cobb office

Care managers, coordinators and clinical oversight

Homewatch CareGivers of East Cobb is licensed by the Georgia Department of Community Health as a Private Home Care Provider, permit PHCP010959. The permit authorizes personal care, companion services and nursing.

Candie McGhee

Candie McGhee

Care Manager and Administrator

Runs the office day to day and supports the care coordination team. She is one of two people who answer the phone after hours, so if you call at 11pm you may well get her. Her line is that every concern deserves follow-through, not just a note on a file.

Glenda Lewis, RN

Glenda Lewis, RN

Care Manager, nursing and clinical oversight

A registered nurse who carries out client assessments, writes the Plan of Care and provides ongoing clinical oversight. When someone's health changes, she is the person who works out what that means for the week and tells the coordinators and the family.

Jeffrey Tuplano

Jeffrey Tuplano

Care Coordinator

Works with clients, families and caregivers to keep care running without gaps: schedules, cover when somebody is sick, and the call when something at home has changed.

Belle Singco

Belle Singco

Care Coordinator

Holds the moving parts together: schedules, communication, and checking that what was agreed is what is actually happening in the house. When a family raises a service concern, it lands with her.

Ling Singco

Ling Singco

Care Coordinator

Handles scheduling, caregiver matching and day-to-day communication, and coordinates authorized VA home care services for veterans. She knows that a small change to a schedule can reshape a family's whole day.

Mae Ramirez

Mae Ramirez

Care Coordinator

Works on scheduling, caregiver coordination and client communication. She is the one who will take the time on the phone when something needs rearranging, and she would rather ask a second question than guess.

Wendi Bozeman

Wendi Bozeman

HR and Compliance

Oversees caregiver documentation, employment requirements and the checks behind a qualified care team. She is also the second person answering the phone after hours. Most of her work is invisible to families, which is rather the point.

Rio Bolanio

Rio Bolanio

Recruiting and Hiring Manager

Finds and screens the caregivers. She works with the office on staffing needs, which is what determines whether we can say yes to a new client in your area and in the hours you need.

How the team is structured

Four roles. One accountable person.

Most agencies give a family a phone number and a rota. Here each client is assigned one care manager who owns the relationship, and the other three roles exist to make that person’s job possible.

  1. 01

    Owner and Clinical Director

A registered nurse sets the clinical standard every Plan of Care is written to, and stays involved in the complex cases.

  2. 02

    Care Manager

Assesses the home, writes the Plan of Care, and remains the named contact. This is the person you will deal with.

  3. 03

    Care Coordinator

Scheduling, caregiver matching, and cover when somebody is sick. They make the plan happen week to week.

  4. 04

    HR, compliance and recruiting

The screening, the records and the hiring behind every caregiver who walks through the door.

The care manager system

What a care manager actually does.

  1. 01

Comes to the house before anything starts

The free visit is where we see the stairs, the bathroom and who is really doing what. Twenty minutes on the phone only gets us so far.

  2. 02

    Writes the Plan of Care

Which tasks, which days, which hours, and what it costs per week, in writing, before anything is signed.

  3. 03

    Stays the named contact

Not a rotating coordinator and not a call center. You will know their name and they will know yours.

  4. 04

Changes the plan when the situation changes

Caregivers observe and report. The care manager decides what it means for the week, tells the family, and loops in the physician when the situation calls for it.

Our caregivers

Career caregivers, not gig workers passing through.

We recruit people already working in the field, employ them properly, and keep them. A caregiver who is supported and paid well is a caregiver who is still there in month six, which is the only quality measure a family actually feels.

100+CaregiversActive on the roster, so cover does not depend on one person being free.
1 yr+ExperienceRequired before we hire, and two or more years preferred.
W-2EmploymentOur employees, taxes withheld, never contractors in your parent's home.
AnnualRe-screeningBackground checks are re-run every year, not just at hire.

Behind every name

How we hire the caregivers behind these faces.

At least a year of caregiving experience is required before we will interview, and two or more is preferred. Then every candidate goes through the same sequence.

  • Application and resume review
  • A structured interview, the same questions for everyone
  • Assessment of skills, availability, reliability, communication, judgement, transport and fit for the case
  • Three reference attempts, at least two professional and no more than one personal
  • Identity and required-document review
  • Driving-document verification where the role involves transport
  • CPR, First Aid, TB and PCA or CNA credentials where applicable
  • Orientation, policy acknowledgments and required training
  • Background screening, re-run every year rather than once at hire

Held by Wendi Bozeman in HR and compliance, and auditable against Georgia permit PHCP010959.

What this team commits to

Four promises, kept every day.

  1. 01

We call back within 30 minutes

Not an auto-reply. A care manager, with your details already in front of them.

  2. 02

Someone picks up 24 hours a day, weekends included

From this office, by one of the people on this page, not a call center in another state.

  3. 03

Care can start within 24 hours

Once the plan is agreed. No long intake and no waiting weeks.

  4. 04

We will tell you when we cannot help

If what you need is nursing, or an address we cannot staff well, we say so and point you elsewhere.

A note from the owners

If you are reading this far, you are probably the one holding it together.

Every name on this page has our numbers, and so will you. We run this office ourselves, we answer, and we would rather lose the work than send somebody into your parent’s house we are not sure of.

Andrew Harris, RN and Serhat Bolukbasi, MBA
